In 1961                       :began his post graduate training at Moore Field eye hospital
In 1965                       :appointed as the associate professor of ophthalmology
In 1968                       :focus to the lack of health care provided for the Aborigines
In 1971                       :the Aboriginal medical service on Redfern
In 1976-1978              :he initiated the national trachoma and eye health program
In 1985                       :visited Nepal to assist to the training of local technician
In 1987                       :Established intraocular lens laboratories in both Eritrea and Nepal
In 1990                       :he was named the Australia of the year
In 1992 Sep3              :established the Fred Hollows foundation
